He taped two servomechanisms to his Xbox One controller to repeatedly kill enemies using his Titan’s melee attack. The mechanism simply presses the melee button repeatedly, which kills enemies coming toward him on the moon-based Ocean of Storms map.
The contraption was quite effective, killing 3,600 enemies, which was good enough to boost his level 16.5 character to level 20 overnight. “With the armor I had waiting for him he is now a 26,” he added.
yavin427 came up with the idea after growing tired of grinding in Destiny.
“I am a (semi?) serious player with 300+ hours and a 32, Destiny power leveling lets you upgrade easier, but when I went to level up my Titan it felt so joyless,” he said. “So this popped into my head as a fun little challenge. I did it more for the hell of it.”
He also admits that he could have leveled his Titan much faster had he done it himself. He also freely admits that this contraption isn’t anything to really be proud of.
“To those saying it’s pathetic, I don’t disagree with you,” he said. “But it’s much less an exploit (least effective way to level up ever) than a bit of fun, just to see if it could be done, and no one else was negatively affected by it. Some people did get some laughs out of it though.”
