Stigma skills add a separate layer of combat customization in Aion 2, giving each class additional abilities that can be developed and placed into dedicated Stigma slots. If you are also managing Aion 2 Kinah for equipment and other character upgrades, it helps to treat Stigma progression as a separate resource plan. This guide explains how the Global Stigma system works, when each slot opens, how Stigma Shards are spent, and how to build a practical loadout without wasting resources.
Unlocking Stigma Skills
The Stigma system becomes available at level 22. After reaching the required Ascension progression, including the The One Who Hears the Voice quest, you can access Stigma skills through the Skills interface.
Stigmas are separate from the normal class skill tree. Each class has its own Stigma skill pool, and the Global version currently provides more Stigma skills than can be equipped at the same time. This means you should choose skills according to your role and the content you expect to play instead of trying to develop every available Stigma immediately.
Your available Stigma slots increase as your character levels:
| Character Level | Stigma Slots |
| 22 | 1 |
| 27 | 2 |
| 32 | 3 |
| 37 | 4 |
The current Global version has four Stigma slots, with the fourth becoming available at level 37. Do not apply the five- or six-slot configurations found in later regional versions to the current Global setup.
Set Up Your First Stigma
After unlocking the system, open the Skills interface and enter the Stigma section. Review the abilities available to your class before spending your Stigma points.
Use this sequence for your first setup:
- Open the Skills menu and select the Stigma section.
- Review the effects of the Stigmas available to your class.
- Choose the skill that best supports your main combat role.
- Spend the required Stigma points to learn and level it.
- Register the learned Stigma in an available slot.
- Test the skill as part of your normal rotation.
- Add another Stigma when your next slot becomes available.
Learning a Stigma and equipping it are separate parts of the process. A skill you have developed still needs to be registered in an available Stigma slot before it becomes part of your active setup.
Understand Stigma Point Costs
Stigma skills use their own Stigma points rather than the regular Skill Points used for ordinary class abilities. The cost rises as a Stigma reaches higher levels, so early upgrades are considerably cheaper than pushing a skill through its later levels.
For the current Global progression through level 20, the cost is:
| Stigma Levels | Cost Per Level | Total Cost |
| 1–5 | 1 Stigma point | 5 |
| 6–10 | 2 Stigma points | 10 |
| 11–15 | 4 Stigma points | 20 |
| 16–20 | 8 Stigma points | 40 |
Taking one Stigma from level 1 through level 20 therefore requires 75 Stigma points in total. The table does not include a separate total row because the 75-point figure is simply the combined cost of the four ranges above.
The cost increase is especially important after level 15. Moving from level 15 to level 20 requires 40 points, which is more than the 35 points needed to progress from level 1 to level 15.
Use the Stigma Specialization Breakpoints
Stigma levels do more than increase a skill’s basic level. Current Global Stigma data shows additional specialization properties becoming available at levels 5, 10, 15, and 20.
For example, a Stigma can gain a new property at one of these thresholds that changes how its effect functions. The exact property depends on the individual Stigma, so check the skill’s specialization entries before deciding which skill deserves your next investment.
This gives you useful stopping points while developing a new build:
Level 5: inexpensive first specialization checkpoint.
Level 10: useful point for a Stigma that has already proven valuable in your rotation.
Level 15: larger investment for a core ability.
Level 20: final regular Stigma-point breakpoint in the current Global progression.
You should not assume that every Stigma needs to reach level 20. The correct target depends on how often you use the skill and how much its specialization improves your actual build.
Spend Stigma Points in a Practical Order
Because Stigma points are limited, spreading them randomly across every available skill can leave your main loadout underdeveloped.
A more efficient progression order is:
- Open your first slot: develop one Stigma that directly supports your class’s primary role.
- Reach level 5: take advantage of the first specialization while the investment remains low.
- Unlock additional slots: add complementary Stigmas rather than automatically choosing the highest-damage option.
- Develop the core skills: move the Stigmas you use most often toward levels 10 and 15.
- Save for level 20: reserve the largest investment for Stigmas that remain central to your regular build.
At character level 45, the Global progression table provides 29 regular Stigma points, while the level 46 reward begins providing a separate Superior Stigma Shard. This means most characters will need to obtain additional Stigma resources through other progression systems if they want to develop several Stigmas deeply.
Choose Stigmas According to the Content
The four available slots should be treated as a loadout rather than four permanent choices that never change.
For regular PvE, prioritize Stigmas that consistently contribute to your class’s damage rotation, healing, defensive requirements, or group utility. A skill that works reliably throughout a dungeon is generally easier to justify than one that only becomes useful under a narrow condition.
For PvP, examine the actual effects more carefully. Crowd control, defensive effects, mobility, disruption, and survival tools can change the value of a Stigma compared with a pure PvE damage option.
A Simple Loadout Framework
Main combat Stigma: Your most important offensive, healing, or class-defining skill.
Secondary combat Stigma: A skill that complements your normal rotation.
Utility Stigma: A defensive, control, support, or situational option.
Flexible Stigma: A slot that can be changed according to the dungeon, boss, PvP activity, or party requirement.
This framework is only a starting point. The actual skills should be selected from the Stigma pool of your class rather than copied from another class or region.
Keep Stigma Resources Separate From Other Progression
Stigma points are gained through character progression, while additional Stigma-related resources can come from other activities and reward systems. The Global progression data also shows Unstable Stigma Shards as part of the game’s broader resource system.
Some content and exchange systems can provide Stigma-related materials, so check the current reward and exchange options before spending currencies elsewhere. If you are deciding between several character upgrades, consider the immediate effect of each purchase instead of automatically converting every available resource into Stigma progression.
A useful rule is to finish the core setup first. Once you know which four Stigmas form your normal loadout, you have a much clearer idea of where additional Stigma resources should go.
Reset and Rebuild When Your Setup Changes
Stigma builds are not permanent decisions. If you change your class setup, start focusing on different content, or discover that a Stigma does not work well with your rotation, review the skill’s current investment rather than continuing to spend resources on it.
Resetting a developed Stigma returns the Stigma points invested into it, although the reset system itself should still be checked before making repeated changes. This makes early experimentation much safer than committing a large number of points to an untested Stigma.
The best time to experiment is before investing heavily into levels 16–20. Those five levels consume 40 points, so test the skill at lower levels first and confirm that it belongs in your regular loadout.
Common Stigma Mistakes to Avoid
Developing every Stigma equally: You can only equip four Stigmas at once, so your active build should receive priority.
Spending heavily before testing: The upper levels consume most of the investment. Test a Stigma before taking it toward level 20.
Ignoring specialization effects: A Stigma’s value can change significantly at levels 5, 10, 15, and 20. Read the new property before choosing your next upgrade.
Copying Korean builds directly: The Korean version received later Stigma expansions, including additional slots and higher Stigma levels. Those changes should not be applied to the current Global four-slot setup.
Confusing Stigma points with regular Skill Points: They are separate progression resources and should be planned independently.
Build Your Four-Slot Setup Before Chasing Maximum Levels
Once you reach level 37, all four Global Stigma slots are available. At that point, the priority should shift from unlocking slots to refining the actual combination of skills you use most often. Keep one dependable main setup for your regular content and adjust the flexible slot when a specific encounter benefits from a different effect.
If you are considering Aion 2 Boosting for sale as an optional progression shortcut, the same resource priority still applies: identify the Stigmas that belong in your intended build before investing heavily in them. Do not spend resources simply because a skill is available.
From there, continue collecting Stigma resources while progressing through your normal PvE and PvP activities. Take the most useful Stigmas through their level 5 and level 10 breakpoints first, then decide which core abilities justify the larger level 15 and level 20 investments. This gives you a stable four-slot build while keeping enough flexibility to adjust your character as your role and content requirements change.
